This course explores the topic of “Writing an Effective PLAAFP Statement” and provides insights on crafting SMART IEP goals. Alicia covers various aspects of an effective PLAAFP, including data sources, writing techniques, parental involvement, and disability impact. When it comes to setting IEP goals, Alicia defines them, illustrates their connection to the PLAAFP, stresses the importance of specificity, measurability, achievability, relevance, and timeliness (SMART framework). Additionally, Alicia emphasizes the alignment of IEP goals with the curriculum, the significance of progress monitoring, and the sharing of best practices through hands-on activities.
