Using Visuals and Creating a Safe Space in the Classroom. This training explains the importance and benefits of using visual supports and the concept of a “Safe Space” within the classroom. This workshop was designed to assist children with autism, but has proven effective for all children, especially young ones. It covers the benefits, types, and effective implementation of visual supports, as well as the setup and purpose of a “Safe Space.”

In this training, you will learn what the benefits are of using visual supports with young children and students with special needs.

This training also demonstrates the various types of visual supports such as First/Then Charts, Visual Schedules and Behavior Expectations, and how to implement them effectively.

Finally, in this training the concept of a Safe Space, the key points of a Safe Space, setting up a Safe Space and suggested items for an effective Safe Space will be presented.

Upon completion of this course, attendees will receive a certificate for 3 CPE hours

Staff will learn what the benefits of using visual supports are, such as enhancing communication, promoting independence and reducing anxiety and sensory overload.

The workshop also teaches the concept of a Safe Space, the key points of a Safe Space, setting up a Safe Space and suggested items for an effective Safe Space.
